Distilled on the 12th of June 1984 this Pot Distilled Rum from the Clarendon Estate has been matured in Jamaica for 34 Years before being disgorged/reracked into the same casks and shipped to the UK where it further matured for another 3 years before being bottled in Dornoch in July 2021.
Nose: Plasticine, pear drops, liquorice, Ceylon cinnamon, beeswax, old oak furniture, ancient dunnage, cognac, raisin sauce, mature game, nutmeg, ‘caramac bar’, muscovado.
Palette: Initially dry but packed with heavy muscovado, cacao nibs, hessian, dunnage funk, shitake mushrooms, raisins, a blunderbuss of waxy oak.
Finish: Long and dry, lots of oak, autumn leaves, mushroom, cacao nibs, 80% Cocoa chocolate, gentian root and dry ginger.
