Sutherland 2024
The leaves are beginning to turn up here in Dornoch so it must be time for another batch of seasonal depression our Sutherland blended malt!
This year, as our stock of mature Dornoch is ever increasing, we have been able to up the size of the batch to 1040 bottles, something we wish to achieve year on year.
This year’s batch also achieves a slight increase in the proportion of Dornoch single malt in the blend, up to 24.9%.
The casks used in this year’s blend are as follows;
Clynelish 12/1/15 Oloroso QC 5.9%
Clynelish 19/7/15 Refill Hhd 12.6%
Clynelish 08/2/16 Refill Hhd 12.3%
Clynelish 08/2/16 Refill Hhd 22.9%

Brora 1982 G&M Lot R0/15/01 0.0089%
Yes, that’s right! 9.9% of sherry matured Dornoch and Clynelish. This has resulted in a slightly sweeter Sutherland whilst retaining the characteristic texture and tropicality that the previous two batches exemplified.
All liquid was vatted together and immediately disgorged back into cask.
For the curious, the vessels used to rest the resulting blend are as follows;
Refill Sherry Butt nicknamed Momo (peach in Japanese) which was used for North Highland blend batch 1.
