Although a mystery Highland Single Malt, we think we know the origin of this lightly peated Highland Whisky. We have placed some clues as to our thoughts on the label… a white as snow dog, a captain’s hat and a pipe…
This particular vatting is two refill hogsheads (that is what we received the liquid in) although we think that this was from a larger vatting from different cask types; there are notes of red wine and sherry. Very funky Autumnal juice.
Nose: Yesterday’s empty Bordeaux glass, old corks, hessian & dunnage, red currents, clay, blueberry compote, autumn leaves and damson
Palate: Soft peat and wet earth, ‘Old dumpy Cadenheads’ – Minerals, waxes, oils, waxed jackets, old coins. Plums on the turn.
Finish: More earth and red fruits, cork and aged red wine.
