Nose: Coastal yet slightly farmy. Linseed oil soak rags, seashells, fresh cotton sheets, green banana, fresh butternut, pumpkin seeds. Banana & Pineappe, in the style of a lighter Jamaican Rum.
Palate: Initially quite juicy with starfruit, kiwi, quince and pineapple. Followed by oils, waxes & seashells. Hints of Chinese ginger, bay and aniseed. Touches of spearmint and cut meadow grass. Very expressive for it’s ABV and ultimately super drinkable.
Finish: Fruits & mint, grass, meadow flowers, aniseed and a hint of light rum.
A really interesting distillate-driven whisky from very old tired wood, very un-sexy for a modern whisky brand to sell but very interesting and delicious if you are a spirit geek. If you like your whisky to be distillate driven and full of spirit character this is for you & if you like wood juice and the taste of splinters, this is not for you.
