Nose: Fresh, malty, and delightfully fragrant. It opens with sweet grist and a greenhouse burst of potted geraniums, accompanied by an elegant touch of old-school floral perfume. The fruit profile is crisp and defined by sharp pip and stone fruits – think underripe white peaches, nectarines, and crunchy orchard apple cores.
Palate: Broad, textured, and significantly more full-bodied than the delicate nose suggests. The orchard fruits turn warm and baked, stepping right into a generous slice of pear pie served alongside a thick, comforting dollop of vanilla custard. A quiet, warming rasp of freshly grated nutmeg grounds the richness across the mid-palate.
Finish: A lively snap of ground white pepper cuts through the custardy weight, leaving a mouth-watering, clean finish that lingers on tart stewed pears, astringent quince paste, and sweet malt that keeps you reaching straight back for the glass.
Non-chill filtered and natural colour. This spirit may haze at low temperatures and under dilution.
