Like all the best ideas, this collaboration began with a slightly tipsy conversation at the bar in Dornoch Castle. What followed was less of a boardroom negotiation and more of a Whisky Yalta – a spirited summit that gave birth to this serendipitous three-year-old.

A fleeting moment captured in liquid form, this blend is something that will never be repeated. It’s a meeting of two distinct and beautiful whiskies – Living Souls 99/1 and Thompson Bros TB/BSW- woven together into a dram that feels both timeless and entirely of its time. A whisky for the ages, born of friendship, chance, and a touch of chaos.

Nose. Walking into a French Tabac after drinking a freshly brewed, high-roast, espresso. Lots of ‘proper’ liquorice sweets – the intense Swedish type! Flat, cheap draft cola, seaweed, charred oak, Drum Blue. Berries (in syrup), very dark chocolate and Rucola.

Palate. Starts very big – BBQ char, tinctures and waxes. Rich, coastal and full on! Blackthorn salt, smoked hough – The berries reappear with aniseed and cinnamon.

Finish. Bitter espresso and dark chocolate (quality stuff). Long and lingering with a rich waxiness!
